Senior Agentic AI Engineer*
What awaits you
- Build enterprise Java applications using agentic workflows as your primary development method
- Establish agentic development environments for projects: rule files, context documentation, MCP server configurations, and scaffolding that optimises AI collaboration
- Define prompt engineering patterns for Java development: how to guide agents through complex refactoring, architecture decisions, and feature implementation
- Review and validate AI-generated code with a critical eye—understanding failure modes, common hallucinations, and quality indicators
- Mentor team members in transitioning from traditional to agentic development workflows
- Contribute to methodology development: help ACCSO codify best practices for AI-native software delivery
- Define and refine our AI-native development methodology, establishing patterns for how teams structure projects, write prompts, and review AI-generated code
- Bridge two worlds: maintain rigorous software engineering standards while embracing radically new development paradigms
What sets you apart
- Java & JVM Expertise (8+ years) (MUST HAVE SKILLS)
- Deep knowledge of Java 17+ and modern JVM development
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data (or Quarkus/Micronaut)
- Solid grasp of software architecture: microservices, event-driven systems, DDD, CQRS
- Solid understanding of software architecture: microservices, event-driven systems, domain-driven design
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Proficiency in API design (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and integration patterns
- Proficiency in testing strategies: unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing
- Familiarity with build tools (Maven, Gradle), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

This is what makes this role different:- Daily use of AI coding agents as your primary development interface—not autocomplete, but full agent collaboration (Claude Code, Cursor Agent, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, or similar)
- Environment configuration expertise: you know how to set up `.cursorrules`, `CLAUDE.md`, project documentation, and context files that make agents effective
- Prompt engineering for code: you can break down complex tasks, provide relevant context, and guide agents through multi-step implementations
- Critical code review skills: you can spot AI-generated anti-patterns, validate logic, and ensure production readiness
- Understanding of agent limitations: you know when to guide, when to intervene, and when to write code yourself
- Workflow optimisation: you've developed personal systems for managing agent sessions, maintaining context across tasks, and ensuring code quality
- Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and tool integration
- Familiarity with LLM APIs and how agents work under the hood
- Bonus Points
- Contributions to open-source projects using agentic workflows
- Experience mentoring others in AI-augmented development
What we offer
- Health insurance
- Family-friendly and flexible working hours
